Mr. Murat ÇAĞATAY was appointed as General Manager for OYAK Maritime and Port Management INC.
Mr. ÇAĞATAY, who graduated from Istanbul Technical University, Department of Maritime Transportation and Management Engineering, has previously worked as Strategic Planning, Marketing and Business Development Manager at OYAK Maritime and Port Management INC. and as Consultant at Maritime Logistics Department and OYAK Mining Metallurgy Group.
Port Operators Association of Turkey (TÜRKLİM) has elected the new board, which will serve for 3 years, with the votes of the members of the port representatives.
As a result of the voting, Mr. Mehmet Hakan GENÇ has become the new Chairman of TÜRKLİM and Mr. Cem AYSEL was appointed as the Vice Chairman.
Mr. Oğuz ÇALIŞKAN, who holds the position of Human Resources Manager in OYAK Maritime and Port Management INC. has been assigned as Human Resources and Communication Group Manager.
As of 26 November 2018, Mr. Bedrana AYHAN, who graduated from Gazi University Labor Economics and Industrial Relations (BA) and Atılım University Business Administration (MS), has been appointed as Human Resources and Communications Manager and the Corporate Communications Unit has been affiliated to the HR and Communications Department.
As we are approaching the end of 2018, OYAK Maritime and Port Management INC. has reached the highest number of vessels this year by completing September with 112 vessels in shipping agency services.

Our Human Resources Manager Oğuz ÇALIŞKAN, Marketing Manager, Edi YAPAR and OHS, Environment and Quality Manager, Serdar AKKOYUN have paid a courtesy visit to the Maritime Faculty in Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University on behalf of OYAK Maritime and Port Management INC. During the meeting, future of the faculty, university-industry cooperation and the current issues have been discussed and the meeting ended with mutual support wishes and gift presentation.
A Safety Board meeting has been held in Iskenderun location of OYAK Maritime and Port Management INC. in order to make their operations more effective and safe and to create safe working environments for the purpose of preventing potential risks in the working environment of the sub-contractor managers, especially meeting the Occupational Health and Safety requirements.
Two-week orientation trainings are provided by all occupational safety experts and Shift Supervisors in Iskenderun location of OYAK Maritime and Port Management INC. In this context, newly recruited personnel are subject to on-site monitoring training of all operations under the orientation training program together with Occupational Safety Experts and the risks of each operation in the field are explained on the spot.
In the second week, trainees undergo practical training in all operations, which are followed by Shift Manager. The personnel completing the orientation trainings are transferred to the operation unit for carrying out operations in the field.

In this context, OYAK Maritime and Port Management INC. family has completed the necessary preparations in all locations and has switched to the latest version of SAP, the S / 4 HANA system, which is the leader of corporate software as of October 1, 2018. With the introduction of SAP, the processes between Accounting, Finance, Procurement, Maintenance and Human Resources will be integrated on the same platform. In this direction, productivity will increase, and communication between units will be strengthened. In addition, all units will be able to report data more effectively in a secure platform and in relation to each other.
From the date we have started using SAP S / 4 HANA, the system will continue to be improved according to the needs that may arise. In this sense, we hope that this system will be beneficial for our company with reliable and up-to-date results that will add value to the corporate culture of OYAK Maritime and Port Management INC.; In the next step, we are planning to switch to E-Invoice and E-Ledger transactions.
OYAK Port which is an 'Automotive-Oriented Ro-Ro Port' investment between OYAK Maritime and Port Management INC. and Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK Line) has been officially founded with 38 Million TL capital under the title of OYAK NYK Ro-Ro Port Management INC. on 23/07/2018. Following the establishment of the official company, the tender process has been commenced.
OYAK Maritime and Port Management INC., which has been offering shipping agency services including ISDEMIR and ERDEMIR Ports all around Turkey since April 12, 2017 has broken a new ground to provide shipping agency services simultaneously to all 9 vessels under operation at ISDEMIR Port on June 12, 2018.
OYAK Maritime and Port Management INC. has visited the ICO - Zeebrugge Terminal, which is the largest Ro-Ro Terminal in the world, with the participation of Renault MAIS and NYK officials on May 10-11.
OYAK Maritime and Port Management INC. visited the ICO Terminal in Zeebrugge (Belgium), which is the largest of the 16 ports owned by NYK with whom a partnership was established for OYAK Port Project that will be operational in 2019 in Yarımca.
Renault MAIS (Turkey) and NYK officials also participated in the visit organized for ICO Port, which is built on a total of 233 hectares and handles approximately 2.5 million vehicles annually.
The ICO terminal, which will serve as an important example with its operational and IT infrastructure for OYAK Port that will bring a breath of fresh air to our country's port operations, stands out as the world's biggest Ro-Ro Terminal with its 81.000 units of instant storage capacity.

Occupational Health and Safety and Environment Workshop which is organized for the second time in this year by Port Operators Association of Turkey (TÜRKLİM), has been held in Pendik Divan Hotel on 03-04 May 2018. Representatives from Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, Ministry of Labor and Social Security and 129 people from 39 ports that are members of TÜRKLİM participated in the workshop. Works that need to be carried out in order to raise awareness on "OHS and Environment" issues and to provide cultural change and good practices have been shared among the ports during the 2-day workshop, where people from different tasks and units participated. The best practices we have carried out in our ISDEMIR and ERDEMIR Ports have been shared with all participants in the workshop where our OHS, Environment and Quality Manager Serdar AKKOYUN participated on behalf of OYAK Maritime and Port Management INC.
OYAK Port press launch has been organized and the decision for making an 'automotive-oriented Ro-Ro Port' investment with Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK Line), which is world's one of the long-established and largest shipping companies has been announced to all of Turkey on April 6, 2018.
The port, which will create employment for approximately 1000 people and will become the export and import gate of international automotive brands, is planned to be built on an area of 235 thousand square meters in the Yarımca region of Körfez District of Kocaeli province, and to serve only to the automotive sector with an annual handling capacity of 780 thousand vehicles.

OYAK Maritime and Port Management INC. has taken action to build an 'automotive oriented Ro-Ro Port' that can serve at international standards. We are setting up a joint venture with Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK), which is the owner and operator of 16 Ro-Ro terminals worldwide. The construction of OYAK Port will start in August 2019 and it is planned that OYAK Port will be operational in September in 2020.
A press launch was organized with the participation of OYAK General Manager Mr. Süleyman Savaş ERDEM and President of NYK Automotive Group Mr. Koichi CHIKARAISHI on 5 April 2017 for the port which will have 539 meters of berth length, 12 meter draft, PDI area, indoor parking lot and open stock areas with an annual capacity of 780.000 stock-piling works.
